Book of King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table.

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is a famous storybook that appears in Sonic and the Black Knight. It contains a collection of several classic tales filled with the adventures of famous characters like King Arthur, Merlin, the Knights of the Round Table, and many others. While this book serves as a important part of the story, it only appears near the end of the game. Similarly to the Arabian Nights, the Knights of the Round Table storybook has a alternate reality called, the World of Camelot.

Story

During the events of Sonic and the Black Knight, Merlina the Sorceress desperately casts a spell to summon "a knight swift as the wind". From a portal above, Sonic the Hedgehog roughly descends into the middle of the field and help dispose of the initial threat surrounding the young sorceress. However, she required further aid from him as she explains the corrupted King Arthur known as the Black Knight and how the world of Camelot is in danger. The two travel together for Sonic to become a true "Knight of the Wind" and obtain the necessary weapon to defeat the evil king.

Later in the story, unexpected events occurred with Merlina's betrayal; revealing her craving for the power to fulfill her personal goal. With the help of Excalibur and Sonic's own will, the world of Camelot was soon restored. The storybook changes to "Sonic and the Black Knight" due to recognizing Sonic's role and participation in its stories.
