The Sol Emeralds(ソルエメラルド Soru Emerarudo?) are the equivalent of the Chaos Emeralds. These rectangular-shaped, emerald-cut objects originate from the Sol Dimension and first debuted in Sonic Rush. Due to the great power the Sol Emeralds possesses, these have a significant role in the game. In the sequel Sonic Rush Adventure, it is revealed that Blaze the Cat guards the Sol Emeralds in her world. Its individual colors are red, yellow, blue, green, silver, cyan, and violet.
Powers and Abilities
The Sol Emeralds' power revolve around fire with each one possessing a massive amount of energy. Similar to Chaos Energy, a user is able to harness its power from one's own thoughts or feelings, empower himself or herself to transform into a super state, and empowering machinery. According to Blaze's Japanese profile on Sonic Channel, the Sol Emeralds can also be manipulated to travel through time and space; thus allowing her to enter Sonic's world at will. Another shared trait from its inter-dimensional counterpart is magnetic properties, which Dr.Eggman and Dr.Nega state the Sol and Chaos Emeralds are able to attract and repel each other. The combination of all fourteen of these jewels has the capacity to destroy the world. It is currently unknown whether or not the Sol Emeralds have an equivalent of the Master Emerald to control its powers.
Collection
In the Sonic Rush series, the Sol Emeralds are essential for the player to progress in the story, but are not obtained from Special Stages. In Sonic Rush, a Sol Emerald is collected after each boss fight as Blaze the Cat. In Sonic Rush Adventure, a player must complete certain missions from Gardon. However, to obtain all seven requires the player to also unlock and complete Hidden Islands 6, 8, and 12.
