In addition, Arks of the Cosmos possesses a magnetic field for massive energy to be converted into other forms of energy. Because of this, it can also function as high-powered computers with one as the Master Unit while the other four attract each other and serve under it. The Arks of the Cosmos are an important plot-device in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.
History
Other than its creators, the history of Arks of the Cosmos is mostly unknown. The ancient Babylonian race desired to utilize the power of the warp drive of a spaceship called, Astral Babylon; later to be known as Babylon Garden. When the Babylonians approached Sonic's world in the distant past, they discovered they could not control the Arks of the Cosmos due to its power beginning to create a black hole. The Babylonians disconnected the Arks of the Cosmos from Astral Babylon to prevent this from happening and sent the objects into orbit of Sonic's world, though it causes them to be stranded.
After an unknown amount of time passes, the Arks of the Cosmos eventually descends from orbit individually and in pairs. Only two fell during the time of the Babylonians' existence; whom hid the items at Gigan Rocks and Crimson Crater. When another appeared, it became a part of Monopole's museum exhibit. Later, Dr.Eggman soon found the one hidden in the Crimson Crater and used it as a power source in MeteoTech's mother computer. The last two Arks of the Cosmos fell during the beginning of the game. One was discovered by SCR-HD at Crimson Tower then Tails whom passed it onto Sonic.
