The Black Arms(ブラックアームズ Burakku Āmuzu?) are a demonic alien race led by Black Doom. This army is known for their red and black insignia along with matching pigmentation. Their main objective is to teleport the Black Comet upon the Earth's surface; resulting in releasing toxic gas that immobilizes all life forms. The only ones who are not affected by the gas are those who have the Black Arms' DNA. Since they are unable to perform this task manually, the Black Arms seek to collect the Chaos Emeralds for the purpose of using Chaos Control. The first and only appearance of the Black Arms is in Shadow the Hedgehog(game). In the game, the player can choose whether to assist or oppose the Black Arms' mission.

List of Creatures

Death Leeches: The Death Leeches are the Black Arms' offspring. They are pulsating, dark red blobs with 3 horns positioned around one eye in the middle of their bodies. They have the ability to stick to walls and drain blood from their opponents.

Black Warrior

Black Warriors: The Black Warriors are slightly taller than average sized humans. They are the most common enemy the player will encounter in the game and usually are equipped with various weapons like swords and shields.

Black Oak

Black Oaks: The Black Oaks are giant soldiers with innate strength and defense. While some may occasionally wield rocket launchers or clubs, the Black Oaks are usually known for wielding large swords. One apparent disadvantage is their slow movement.

Black Arms Annelids: Black Arms Annelids are giant worms. They typically attack their prey from beneath the ground's surface and able to detect the target's location by his or her vital signs. There are variants of these creatures depending upon the area. Common Annelids are known as Sand Worms while the powerful version are known as Gold Annelids. Gold Annelids are resistant to damage from weaker weapons and are stronger and faster than regular Annelids. The only stages they appear in the game are The Last Way and Black Comet.

Killing Plant: The Killing Plant is a large mutated flower plant. It can release fire and extend its branches for offense. However, it will form into a normal bud if the player successfully defeats it. After a certain amount of time passes, the Killing Plant will revive itself.

Black Wing: The Black Wing is a small bat creature similar to Black Hawks.

Black Hawk

Black Hawks: The Black Hawks are the stronger variant of the Black Wing. They are small winged dragons able to shoot blue energy waves and fly unhindered in space. Although it only occurs occasionally, the player can ride on the backs of the Black Hawks.

Black Volts: The Black Volts are gold armored Black Hawks with Worm Shooters. They have a higher endurance than normal Black Hawks.

Black Assassins: The Black Assassins look similarly to Black Arms Soldiers. However, they are able to endure many attacks and able to teleport. They are equipped with laser rifles known as Refractors. The Black Assassins only appear in three stages of the game; Black Comet, Final Haunt, and The Last Way.

Black Bull

Black Bull: The Black Bull are powerful creatures resembling the fusion of a legless larva and a dragon. It has only one green eye and able to breathe fire. It can also produce Black Wings from its mouth. It appears as a boss after the player completes the stage(s) Lethal Highway and/or Death Ruins.

Black Comet

The Black Comet is the techno-organic home of the Black Arms. Inside the base contains pulsating growths, tentacles, organs, and throat type halls. In the Japanese version of Shadow the Hedgehog(game), the tentacles will release a roaring sound similar to the Biolizard when it is destroyed. There is also a viscous toxic substance only the Death Leeches and the Black Annelids can safely inhale. The Black Comet only passes by Earth every 50 years, which initiates the plot at the beginning of the game and also prior to its events.
